Our Lesson Program

At Flower Hill Farms, our lesson program is designed for riders who are just beginning their journey—from learning how to walk, trot, canter, and going over poles—to those with competitive aspirations. We focus on building correct fundamentals, confidence, and strong horsemanship skills that set riders up for long-term success in and out of the show ring. Whether your goal is to build a solid foundation or take the first steps toward competition, Flower Hill Farms provides a positive, encouraging environment where riders can grow, learn, and thrive. Our carefully selected lesson horses are safe, experienced, and well-suited to teach riders at every stage of development. Each horse helps students learn balance, rhythm, and proper position while encouraging responsibility and partnership.

Pricing

All new riders begin with an evaluation lesson. This allows us to assess riding level, goals, and horse compatibility so we can place each rider in the most appropriate program.

 Evaluation Lesson: $100
45 min total, 15 min tacking the horse + 30 min private lesson

Following the evaluation lesson, riders enroll in tuition-based lesson packages, which provide consistent instruction and structured progression:

1 group lesson per week: $360 per month
45 min group lessons

2 group lessons per week: $675 per month
45 min group lessons, 1 flat lesson & 1 jumping lesson

 Policies

Tuition pricing secures a rider’s weekly lesson time and horse assignment. Due to the nature of a structured program, a maximum of one makeup lesson is permitted per month. Makeup lessons are scheduled based on availability and must be used within the same month.

Riders may participate in the Our Lesson Program for a maximum of six (6) months. This time frame allows riders to build a solid foundation, develop consistency, and prepare for the next steps of their riding journey. After six months, riders are required to transition into our Our County Program. This progression supports continued development by offering increased consistency with one horse, ability to take horse to the county level shows, and greater responsibility—key components for riders with competitive goals.

Riders are required to own their own helmet and riding boots. We recommend stopping my Mary’s Tack & Feed to be properly fitted before your first lesson.
